Dr. Kum-Biocca's research areas focus on Interaction Design, Visual Communication Digital, UI/UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Scientific Data visualization, and interactive installation. Some of this work and theory is communicated in over twenty publications: including three books, research articles, and international presentations.
Dr. Kum-Biocca's research and design work has been supported by grants or external projects from over 10 funding organizations, including National Science Foundation I-Corps, Google, Amazon, Microsoft Faculty Fellow (NJIT Nomination), National Research Foundation of Korea, Seoul Design Foundation, Korea Telecom, Seoul design Festival, Newhouse Endowment, Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation, among others.
